South Africa’s total trade with the United States was $1.41 billion in February, a change of 1.22 percent from the same month one year ago. The change in exports was -17.19 percent and the change in imports was 12.66 percent. South Africa ranked No. 38 among U.S. trade partners in February. It had ranked No. 38 for the same month last year.

The top three U.S. exports by value in February were Motor vehicle parts, (2) Oil, and (3) LNG, other petroleum gases. The top three U.S. imports from South Africa, also by value, were Unwrought platinum in various forms, (2) Diamonds, not mounted, and (3) Passenger vehicles. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Coal, briquettes, (2) LNG, other petroleum gases, and (3) Oil. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Emery, other abrasive stones, (2) Pig iron, and (3) Granulated slag from iron or steel.
