The change in exports was 70.84 percent and the change in imports was 7.74 percent. Sri Lanka ranked No. 74 among U.S. trade partners in March. It had ranked No. 77 for the same month last year.
The top three U.S. exports by value in March were Soybean oilcake, (2) Medicines in individual dosages, and (3) Motor vehicle parts. The top three U.S. imports from Sri Lanka, also by value, were Precious stones, (2) Women's or girls' suits, not knit, and (3) Bras, panties, etc.. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Soybean oilcake, (2) Sugar and starch residues, and (3) Uncoated kraft paper, paperboard. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Retread or used tires, (2) Iron or steel nails, tacks, drawing pins, and (3) Parts for heavy machinery.
