Botswana’s total trade with the United States was $76.8 million in March, a change of 61.25 percent from the same month one year ago. The change in exports was 72.93 percent and the change in imports was 60.07 percent. Botswana ranked No. 103 among U.S. trade partners in March. It had ranked No. 117 for the same month last year.

The top three U.S. exports by value in March were Civilian aircraft, parts, (2) Low-value shipments, and (3) Misc. aircraft parts. The top three U.S. imports from Botswana, also by value, were Diamonds, not mounted, (2) Precious stones, and (3) Estimates of low-value imports. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Harvesting machinery for poultry, (2) Parts for heavy machinery, and (3) Carboxyamide- or amide-function compounds. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Diamonds, not mounted, (2) Ball-point pens, mechanical pencils, and (3) Insulated wire, cable.
