Port Everglades trade up 7.62 percent in April from last April

Trade at Port Everglades for the month of April increased 7.62 percent from the same month one year ago and was up 0.13 percent compared to the previous month, according to ustradenumbers.com analysis of the most recent U.S. government data.

Breaking it down, exports decreased 0.55 percent compared to the same month in the previous year and were down 9.23 percent from the previous month. Imports increased 17.63 percent compared to the same month in the previous year and grew 11.45 percent when compared to the previous month.

On a year-to-date basis, trade at Port Everglades was valued at $9.18 billion, an increase of 0.17 percent through April.

Exports totaled $4.69 billion, down 3.64 percent while imports were valued at $4.48 billion, up 4.49 percent.

The surplus at Port Everglades was $210.61 million.
