- Port of Los Angeles rose 12.07 percent compared to last year to $912.25 million.
- Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, TX rose 5.59 percent compared to last year to $820.72 million.
- Pharr International Bridge in TX fell 5.24 percent compared to last year to $769.88 million.
- Chicago O'Hare International Airport rose 11.98 percent compared to last year to $592.75 million.
There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.
Highlights for the top five foreign sources:
- U.S. imports from No. 1 Mexico increased $206.92 million, 3.65 percent, (41.28 percent market share).
- U.S. imports from No. 2 Canada increased $166.24 million, 14.25 percent, (9.35 percent market share).
- U.S. imports from No. 3 Germany increased $56.69 million, 6.96 percent, (6.11 percent market share).
- U.S. imports from No. 4 China decreased $20.52 million, 2.44 percent, (5.77 percent market share).
- U.S. imports from No. 5 South Korea increased $62.34 million, 11.01 percent, (4.41 percent market share).
All totaled, 66.93 percent of all these Electrical boards, panels and switches imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $9.54 billion of the $14.25 billion total.
