  • Port of Newark fell 9.36 percent compared to last year to $201,060.
  • FedEx Memphis WorldHub fell 68.72 percent compared to last year to $124,491.
  • Port of Chicago land-based cargo fell 72.64 percent compared to last year to $114,734.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 Germany decreased $464,797, 22.82 percent, (60.03 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Switzerland increased $110,455, 20.98 percent, (24.33 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 China decreased $109,344, 26.8 percent, (11.41 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Thailand increased $10,200, 28.27 percent, (1.77 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Taiwan decreased $31,091, 68.42 percent, (0.55 percent market share).

All totaled, 98.08 percent of all these Clock movements imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $2.57 million of the $2.62 million total.
