  • Port of Newark rose 49.9 percent compared to last year to $3.92 million.
  • Pharr International Bridge in TX fell 14.19 percent compared to last year to $2.19 million.
  • Port of Los Angeles fell 12.54 percent compared to last year to $2.09 million.
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport rose 2.97 percent compared to last year to $1.87 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 Mexico decreased $128,074, 1.32 percent, (33.08 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 China increased $136,258, 1.93 percent, (24.83 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 India increased $1.64 million, 73.05 percent, (13.37 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 United Kingdom increased $347,999, 37.96 percent, (4.36 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Taiwan decreased $260,084, 17.86 percent, (4.12 percent market share).

All totaled, 79.76 percent of all these Braids, tassels imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $23.13 million of the $29 million total.
