Through August of this year the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Cambodia, No. 3 Mexico, No. 4 Italy and No. 5 Vietnam. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port of Newark, No. 3 Port of Long Beach, No. 4 Port of Savannah, GA and No. 5 Port of Tacoma, WA.

In the last previous full year, the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Cambodia, No. 3 Mexico, No. 4 Italy and No. 5 Vietnam. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port of Newark, No. 3 Port of Long Beach, No. 4 Port of Savannah, GA and No. 5 Port of Virginia.

  • Port of Savannah, GA fell 17.61 percent compared to last year to $28.65 million.
  • Port of Tacoma, WA fell 3.73 percent compared to last year to $15.42 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China decreased $81.59 million, 22.16 percent, (94.55 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Cambodia increased $961,373, 33.84 percent, (1.25 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Mexico increased $126,132, 5.65 percent, (0.78 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Italy increased $155,573, 7.99 percent, (0.69 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Vietnam increased $239,368, 21.96 percent, (0.44 percent market share).

All totaled, 97.72 percent of all these Umbrellas imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $296.2 million of the $303.11 million total.
