In the last previous full year, the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Italy, No. 3 Thailand, No. 4 Vietnam and No. 5 Germany. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Newark, No. 2 Port of Los Angeles, No. 3 Port of Long Beach, No. 4 San Francisco International Airport, CA and No. 5 Port of Savannah, GA.

  • Port of Los Angeles fell 15.01 percent compared to last year to $8.54 million.
  • Port of Long Beach fell 9.89 percent compared to last year to $3.38 million.
  • Port of Savannah, GA rose 45.28 percent compared to last year to $1.53 million.
  • Los Angeles International Airport rose 143.69 percent compared to last year to $1.44 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China decreased $2.23 million, 14.41 percent, (31.14 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Italy increased $3.52 million, 44.34 percent, (26.88 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Thailand increased $580,047, 19.65 percent, (8.29 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Taiwan increased $1.28 million, 115.93 percent, (5.61 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Vietnam decreased $499,339, 20.07 percent, (4.67 percent market share).

All totaled, 76.59 percent of all these Tripods imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $32.63 million of the $42.61 million total.
