In the last previous full year, the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Portugal, No. 3 Taiwan, No. 4 France and No. 5 Italy. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port of Newark, No. 3 Port of Savannah, GA, No. 4 Port of Long Beach and No. 5 Port of Tacoma, WA.

  • Port of Savannah, GA fell 28.38 percent compared to last year to $6.54 million.
  • Port of Long Beach fell 17.97 percent compared to last year to $5.66 million.
  • Port of Charleston rose 12.47 percent compared to last year to $3.47 million.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China decreased $14.7 million, 21.41 percent, (69.16 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Taiwan decreased $571,852, 16.06 percent, (3.83 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 France decreased $141,073, 4.63 percent, (3.72 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Portugal decreased $2.3 million, 44.42 percent, (3.69 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Thailand increased $2.12 million, 0 percent, (2.72 percent market share).

All totaled, 83.13 percent of all these Hand-operated mechanical appliances imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $64.86 million of the $78.02 million total.
