Through August of this year the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Vietnam, No. 3 Dominican Republic, No. 4 Mexico and No. 5 Guatemala. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port Miami, No. 3 Port of Newark, No. 4 Port of Tacoma, WA and No. 5 Port of Virginia.

In the last previous full year, the leading sources were No. 1 China, No. 2 Vietnam, No. 3 Mexico, No. 4 Guatemala and No. 5 Dominican Republic. The leading sources were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port of Newark, No. 3 Port Miami, No. 4 Port of Virginia and No. 5 Port of Tacoma, WA.

  • Port Miami rose 2.65 percent compared to last year to $19.38 million.
  • Port of Newark fell 9.98 percent compared to last year to $18.13 million.
  • Port of Tacoma, WA rose 7.05 percent compared to last year to $14.28 million.
  • Port of Virginia fell 28.52 percent compared to last year to $12.9 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China decreased $10.19 million, 12.29 percent, (40.03 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Vietnam decreased $6.82 million, 21.28 percent, (13.9 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Dominican Republic increased $5.06 million, 44.77 percent, (9 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Mexico decreased $2.78 million, 15.25 percent, (8.5 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Guatemala decreased $1.46 million, 9.74 percent, (7.46 percent market share).

All totaled, 78.89 percent of all these Parts of footwear imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $143.32 million of the $181.68 million total.
