  • Newark Liberty International Airport, NJ rose 531.04 percent compared to last year to $10.62 million.
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport fell 7.46 percent compared to last year to $10.58 million.
  • Port of Los Angeles fell 28.18 percent compared to last year to $8.15 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 France decreased $2.47 million, 6.04 percent, (22.38 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 United Kingdom increased $12.24 million, 60.96 percent, (18.82 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Mexico increased $4.78 million, 24.5 percent, (14.14 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Germany decreased $1.21 million, 5.46 percent, (12.21 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 Canada decreased $235,632, 2.25 percent, (5.96 percent market share).

All totaled, 73.51 percent of all these Gas masks, breathing apparatus imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $126.22 million of the $171.7 million total.
