  • Port of Newark rose 18.66 percent compared to last year to $23.64 million.
  • Port of Virginia fell 3.86 percent compared to last year to $19.66 million.
  • Port of Houston rose 8.97 percent compared to last year to $19.17 million.
  • Port of Long Beach rose 46.14 percent compared to last year to $14.83 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 China decreased $6.59 million, 11.88 percent, (21.05 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 Mexico increased $94,925, 0.39 percent, (10.48 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 Israel increased $1.05 million, 5.17 percent, (9.23 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 South Korea decreased $6.76 million, 25.38 percent, (8.55 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 India increased $2.21 million, 12.72 percent, (8.42 percent market share).

All totaled, 57.73 percent of all these Flexible metal tubing imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $134.07 million of the $232.25 million total.
