  • Port of Houston rose 13.74 percent compared to last year to $55.38 million.
  • Port of Virginia fell 17.31 percent compared to last year to $40.15 million.

Highlights for the top five foreign sources:

  • U.S. imports from No. 1 Turkey decreased $87.69 million, 16.82 percent, (43.7 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 2 India increased $31.95 million, 10.79 percent, (33.07 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 3 China decreased $27.84 million, 30.58 percent, (6.37 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 4 Egypt decreased $3.29 million, 5.82 percent, (5.37 percent market share).
  • U.S. imports from No. 5 United Kingdom increased $2.07 million, 10.08 percent, (2.28 percent market share).

All totaled, 90.8 percent of all these Carpets, including from manmade textiles imports to the United States were shipped from the top five sources through August of this year. That is equal to $900.81 million of the $992.11 million total.
