U.S. exports of Misc. copper articles decreased 1.32 percent through August to $207.28 million

The category ranked 498 through August among the roughly 1,265 import commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 506 for the last full year with a total value of $303.79 million, a $13.83 million, 4.77 percent increase from the 2023 total.

Through August of this year the leading markets were No. 1 Mexico, No. 2 Canada, No. 3 Malaysia, No. 4 United Kingdom and No. 5 Germany. The leading markets were No. 1 Port Laredo, No. 2 Otay Mesa Freeway Border Crossing, CA, No. 3 Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, TX, No. 4 Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport, OH and No. 5 John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In the last previous full year, the leading markets were No. 1 Mexico, No. 2 Canada, No. 3 Germany, No. 4 China and No. 5 Chile.   • Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, TX rose 95.83 percent compared to last year to $17.81 million.
  • Cleveland's Hopkins International Airport, OH rose 2.93 percent compared to last year to $13.37 million.
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport rose 4.03 percent compared to last year to $10.64 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Mexico decreased $12.06 million, 10.52 percent, (49.45 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Canada increased $2.88 million, 12.83 percent, (12.21 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 Malaysia increased $5.05 million, 129.92 percent, (4.31 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 United Kingdom increased $2.22 million, 41.28 percent, (3.67 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Germany increased $759,781, 13.17 percent, (3.15 percent market share).

All totaled, 72.79 percent of all these Misc. copper articles exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $150.87 million of the $207.28 million total.
