The leading markets were No. 1 Port of New York, No. 2 Low-Value border crossing cargo, No. 3 Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY, No. 4 Port Laredo and No. 5 Port of Virginia.

In the last previous full year, the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 The Netherlands, No. 3 United Arab Emirates, No. 4 Mexico and No. 5 United Kingdom. The leading markets were No. 1 Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY, No. 2 Port of New York, No. 3 Low-Value border crossing cargo, No. 4 Port of Virginia and No. 5 Port Laredo.

  • Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY fell 29.02 percent compared to last year to $11.98 million.
  • Port Laredo rose 38.96 percent compared to last year to $10.32 million.
  • Port of Virginia fell 29.62 percent compared to last year to $8.65 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada decreased $3.41 million, 8.07 percent, (38.38 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico increased $2.68 million, 33.55 percent, (10.56 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 United Arab Emirates increased $411,893, 4.52 percent, (9.41 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 United Kingdom decreased $2.03 million, 25.69 percent, (5.81 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Panama increased $934,536, 22.43 percent, (5.04 percent market share).

All totaled, 69.21 percent of all these Candles exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $70.01 million of the $101.16 million total.
