U.S. exports of Aircraft engines, parts increased 17.77 percent through August to $10.32 billion

The category ranked 22 through August among the roughly 1,265 import commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 23 for the last full year with a total value of $14.08 billion, a $2.63 billion, 22.96 percent increase from the 2023 total.

Through August of this year the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 Singapore, No. 4 Japan and No. 5 Saudi Arabia. The leading markets were No. 1 Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, No. 2 Miami International Airport, No. 3 Chicago O'Hare International Airport, No. 4 Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and No. 5 John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In the last previous full year, the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 Singapore, No. 4 Italy and No. 5 Japan. The leading markets were No. 1 Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, No. 2 Miami International Airport, No. 3 Chicago O'Hare International Airport, No. 4 Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and No. 5 John F. Kennedy International Airport.

  • Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport rose 17.09 percent compared to last year to $1.49 billion.
  • Miami International Airport rose 75.62 percent compared to last year to $1.44 billion.
  • Chicago O'Hare International Airport rose 3.36 percent compared to last year to $797.93 million.
  • Dallas Fort Worth International Airport fell 0.05 percent compared to last year to $756.24 million.
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport rose 9.56 percent compared to last year to $730.9 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada increased $44.12 million, 5.28 percent, (8.53 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico increased $44.85 million, 5.46 percent, (8.39 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 Singapore increased $12.72 million, 2.02 percent, (6.21 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 Japan increased $120.56 million, 28.28 percent, (5.3 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Saudi Arabia increased $304.56 million, 131.93 percent, (5.19 percent market share).

All totaled, 33.61 percent of all these Aircraft engines, parts exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $3.47 billion of the $10.32 billion total.
