  • San Francisco International Airport, CA rose 55.26 percent compared to last year to $13.2 million.
  • John F. Kennedy International Airport rose 0.64 percent compared to last year to $9.1 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Germany decreased $9.34 million, 22.27 percent, (17.82 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 The Netherlands increased $6.33 million, 38.27 percent, (12.51 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 China increased $4.24 million, 35.4 percent, (8.87 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 Canada decreased $5.08 million, 25.08 percent, (8.29 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Mexico increased $636,281, 6.16 percent, (5.99 percent market share).

All totaled, 53.49 percent of all these Optical microscopes, parts exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $97.82 million of the $182.89 million total.
