U.S. exports of Manganese articles decreased 16.11 percent through August to $6.48 million

Through August of this year the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Norway, No. 3 China, No. 4 Japan and No. 5 Malaysia. The leading markets were No. 1 Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge, MI, No. 2 Port of New Orleans, No. 3 Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY, No. 4 Port of Long Beach and No. 5 Port of New York.

In the last previous full year, the leading markets were No. 1 The Netherlands, No. 2 China, No. 3 Canada, No. 4 Norway and No. 5 India. The leading markets were No. 1 Port of Boston, No. 2 Port of New York, No. 3 Port of Savannah, GA, No. 4 Port of Baltimore, MD and No. 5 Port of Los Angeles.

  • Port of New Orleans rose 7.44 percent compared to last year to $750,618.
  • Buffalo Peace Bridge, NY rose 171.59 percent compared to last year to $637,683.
  • Port of Long Beach rose 133.99 percent compared to last year to $633,105.
  • Port of New York fell 33.7 percent compared to last year to $482,823.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada increased $1.76 million, 156.19 percent, (44.61 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Norway increased $52,008, 7.44 percent, (11.59 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 China decreased $935,611, 59.18 percent, (9.96 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 Japan increased $124,002, 36.93 percent, (7.1 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Malaysia increased $72,722, 20.72 percent, (6.54 percent market share).

All totaled, 79.8 percent of all these Manganese articles exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $5.17 million of the $6.48 million total.
