U.S. exports of Liquid-dispersing equipment increased 2.12 percent through August to $2 billion

The category ranked 120 through August among the roughly 1,265 import commodity groupings as classified by Census. It ranked No. 120 for the last full year with a total value of $2.89 billion, a $102.34 million, 3.42 percent decreased from the 2023 total.

Through August of this year the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 China, No. 4 Australia and No. 5 Belgium. The leading markets were No. 1 Port Laredo, No. 2 Port of Los Angeles, No. 3 Port Huron Blue Water Bridge, MI, No. 4 Chicago O'Hare International Airport and No. 5 Low-Value border crossing cargo.

In the last previous full year, the leading markets were No. 1 Canada, No. 2 Mexico, No. 3 China, No. 4 Australia and No. 5 United Kingdom. The leading markets were No. 1 Port of Los Angeles, No. 2 Port Laredo, No. 3 Chicago O'Hare International Airport, No. 4 Port Huron Blue Water Bridge, MI and No. 5 Port of Virginia.

  • Port Laredo rose 15.56 percent compared to last year to $126.61 million.
  • Port of Los Angeles fell 28.3 percent compared to last year to $106.49 million.
  • Port Huron Blue Water Bridge, MI fell 3.52 percent compared to last year to $105.41 million.
  • Chicago O'Hare International Airport fell 6.02 percent compared to last year to $102.7 million.
  • Low-Value border crossing cargo rose 41.36 percent compared to last year to $97.49 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada decreased $28.07 million, 6.35 percent, (20.74 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico increased $37.89 million, 12.34 percent, (17.28 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 China increased $2.39 million, 2.68 percent, (4.58 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 Australia decreased $3.89 million, 4.38 percent, (4.26 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 Belgium decreased $5.06 million, 7.14 percent, (3.3 percent market share).

All totaled, 50.16 percent of all these Liquid-dispersing equipment exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $1 billion of the $2 billion total.
