  • Port of New York rose 45.81 percent compared to last year to $36.26 million.
  • Detroit Ambassador Bridge, MI fell 65.99 percent compared to last year to $28.2 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada decreased $69.82 million, 27.22 percent, (27.9 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico decreased $104.18 million, 37.95 percent, (25.45 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 Germany increased $1.68 million, 5.82 percent, (4.56 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 China decreased $1.72 million, 5.96 percent, (4.05 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 South Korea increased $10.16 million, 99.29 percent, (3.05 percent market share).

All totaled, 65.01 percent of all these Laser, photon beam device exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $435.05 million of the $669.22 million total.
