U.S. exports of Hats, other headgear decreased 12.33 percent through August to $12.67 million

  • Los Angeles International Airport fell 17.1 percent compared to last year to $895,874.
  • Port of New York rose 174.79 percent compared to last year to $850,338.
  • Port Laredo fell 52.09 percent compared to last year to $848,649.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada decreased $780,803, 19.98 percent, (24.68 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico decreased $829,630, 30.33 percent, (15.04 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 Japan increased $57,742, 4.46 percent, (10.67 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 Australia increased $139,232, 17.07 percent, (7.54 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 China increased $136,325, 20.85 percent, (6.24 percent market share).

All totaled, 64.16 percent of all these Hats, other headgear exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $8.13 million of the $12.67 million total.
