  • Los Angeles International Airport rose 39.64 percent compared to last year to $27.9 million.
  • Detroit Ambassador Bridge, MI fell 19.87 percent compared to last year to $22.76 million.
  • Port Laredo fell 19.02 percent compared to last year to $21.44 million.

There are several hundred airports, seaports and border crossings that handle international trade; they are, in turn, part of the roughly four dozen U.S. Customs districts.

Highlights for the top five foreign markets:

  • U.S. export to No. 1 Canada decreased $1.13 million, 0.76 percent, (38.9 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 2 Mexico decreased $9.65 million, 21.9 percent, (9.08 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 3 Germany decreased $4.93 million, 17.22 percent, (6.26 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 4 The Netherlands increased $5.18 million, 34.44 percent, (5.34 percent market share).
  • U.S. export to No. 5 China decreased $14,787, 0.09 percent, (4.25 percent market share).

All totaled, 63.82 percent of all these Dental floss exports from the United States were shipped to the top five markets through August of this year. That is equal to $241.99 million of the $379.17 million total.
