Malta’s total trade with the United States was $21.6 million in June, a change of 3.79 percent from the same month one year ago. The change in exports was -18.08 percent and the change in imports was 12.64 percent. Malta ranked No. 140 among U.S. trade partners in June. It had ranked No. 135 for the same month last year.

The top three U.S. exports by value in June were Civilian aircraft, parts, (2) Cell phones, related equipment, and (3) Medical technology. The top three U.S. imports from Malta, also by value, were Computer chips, (2) Electrical supplies <1000V, and (3) Electrical boards, panels and switches. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Sawed, chipped wood >6MM thick, (2) Wood charcoal, and (3) Polymers of vinyl chloride. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Gasoline, other fuels, (2) Misc. plastic plates, sheets and film, and (3) Miscellaneous machines, parts.
