Malta’s total trade with the United States was $76.81 million in January, a change of 32.23 percent from the same month one year ago. The change in exports was 250.15 percent and the change in imports was -62.11 percent. Malta ranked No. 101 among U.S. trade partners in January. It had ranked No. 108 for the same month last year.

The top three U.S. exports by value in January were Civilian aircraft, parts, (2) Medicines in individual dosages, and (3) Cell phones, related equipment. The top three U.S. imports from Malta, also by value, were Computer chips, (2) Electrical boards, panels and switches, and (3) Antibiotics. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Uncoated kraft paper, paperboard, (2) Almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc., and (3) Civilian aircraft, parts. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Misc. plastic plates, sheets and film, (2) Air-conditioning machines, and (3) Miscellaneous machines, parts.
