Belize’s total trade with the United States was $50.5 million in February, a change of 2.85 percent from the same month one year ago. The change in exports was 2.31 percent and the change in imports was 13.87 percent. Belize ranked No. 114 among U.S. trade partners in February. It had ranked No. 108 for the same month last year.
The top three U.S. exports by value in February were Gasoline, other fuels, (2) Passenger vehicles, and (3) Low-value shipments. The top three U.S. imports from Belize, also by value, were Mussels, scallops, other mollusks, (2) Sauces and mixed condiments, and (3) Shrimp, other crustaceans. By tonnage, the top three U.S. exports were (1) Gasoline, other fuels, (2) LNG, other petroleum gases, and (3) Sawed, chipped wood >6MM thick. The top three U.S. imports, also by tonnage, were (1) Bananas and plantains, (2) Melons and papayas, and (3) Sauces and mixed condiments.
